Kim Coy DeCoste has more than 27 years of experience as a diabetes educator. Working in public health, she has dedicated her professional career to improving the lives of those living with diabetes. She educates both people with diabetes and the health professionals caring for them. DeCoste is a past member of the AADE Board of Directors, and currently on the faculty of AADE's Core Concepts Course. She has been appointed as a member of the Kentucky Board of Diabetes Educators, taking a leadership role in the first state to require licenses for practicing Diabetes Educators.
Kim is committed to advocating for patients and offering the behavior change support needed to assist in the prevention of diabetes and its related complications.
DeCoste completed both her BSN and MSN at Eastern Kentucky University, in 1982 and 1998, respectively. She has been a certified diabetes educator for more than 25 years.
