Blood glucose lowering agent with a rapid onset and intermediate duration of action. Contains 70% insulin aspart protamine crystals and 30% soluble insulin aspart. The dosage of NovoLog® Mix 70/30 must be individualized. Fixed ratio insulins are typically dosed on a twice daily basis, i.e. before breakfast and supper, with each dose intended to cover two meals or a meal and a snack. NovoLog® Mix 70/30 is intended only for subcutaneous injection and can be dosed within 15 minutes of meal initiation. NovoLog® Mix 70/30 should not be administered intravenously.
