GLUCOTROL XL® is an extended-release oral blood-glucose-lowering drug of the sulfonylurea class. Indicated as an adjunct to diet for the control of hyperglycemia and its associated symptomatology in patients with type 2 diabetes after an adequate trial of dietary therapy has proved unsatisfactory. Recommended initial dose: 5mg daily with breakfast. Typical maintenance dose range: 5mg to 10mg taken once daily. Maximum recommended daily dose: 20mg. Active Ingredients: Glipizide.
