ACE inhibitor indicated in patients 55 years or older at high risk of developing a major cardiovascular event because of a history of coronary artery disease, stroke, peripheral vascular disease or diabetes that is accompanied by at least one other cardiovascular risk factor to reduce the risk of myocardial infraction, stroke or death from cardiovascular causes. Recommended initial dose for patients not on diuretics: 2(1/2)mg once daily for 3 weeks. Usual maintenance dosage range: 2(1/2)mg to 30mg per day administered as a single dose or in two equally divided doses. Active Ingredients: ramipril.
