Thiazolidinediones (TZDs)

Thiazolidinediones (TZDs) act by increasing insulin sensitivity in muscle and fat cells, allowing the insulin available in the body to be more effectively used. Certain TZDs lower LDL or increase HDL, and are generally thought of as cardio-protective.
