Rapid-Acting: Injected

Rapid-Acting insulin that is injected begins working in approximately 15 minutes. It has a peak between 60 and 120 minutes and is generally no longer active after 4 to 6 hours. Used to replace bolus of insulin that the pancreas usually makes in response to foods or to correct increased glucose levels.
